BAFTA and TCL’s first major partnership, the TV Sessions was a three-week virtual line-up of panels and social content celebrating nominees and nominated programmes at the British Academy Television Awards and British Academy Craft Awards. It consisted of 12 sessions from the 13th-28th July 2020.
The overarching challenge was to establish TCL Mobile UK as the primary cinema supporting phone brand in the UK, by placing them on some of the industry’s most important events. First opportunity to do so was supporting the BAFTA TV Sessions, 12 events featuring stellar line-ups of talent and strong dynamic conversations with guests and hosts. We needed to magnify those events and capitalise on TCL’s brand position on the events.
The main benefit of the partnership was the platform TCL was able to share with BAFTA. Having their logo alongside one of the world’s foremost film organisations immediately set TCL up as a major partner in the British film scene. Supporting the largest series of British-industry interviews over the summer of 2020 set TCL Mobile UK on the way to becoming the primary cinema supporting phone brand in the country.
The partnership also granted TCL Mobile UK the opportunity to engage and share the content on social media, utilising BAFTA’s legitimacy in this sector. Three TV Sessions were available on TCL’s Facebook channel and those three events now rank among the most popular on the burgeoning page.
